2 shots of some items taken in Potato Farmland which I think are pretty interesting to share with everyone.

Beautiful warm-coloured straws…

A group of bubbly young men visited us over the weekend for a late night feast and they were thoroughly entertained by our Cheese Stix. After pointing out to them that the cheese within can be stretched longer than those found in the Pizza Hut ads (with some skills), they have issued a challenge to anyone who can beat their record! Hahaha…

Let’s set a record!

Getting Longer…

and longer…

A new challenger appears…

We got a record here…

Attempt number 2…

Don’t drop…

We’ve got a new record here! (The reason why this picture is blurred was due to the vibrations to my hands caused by the extreme laughter while taking this photo.)
Here’s some photos of a mini birthday party bash threw by a lovely group of Chongfu students for Agnes on 26th September. These thoughtful students chipped in their pocket money and bought her a birthday cake, how sweet!

Ever since operation started at Potato Farmland, our lovely pet dog ‘BuiBui’ has been neglected due to our long working hours. So here’s a post dedicated to our most loyal supporter, who never fails to let us know how delicious our snacks are.

After a year of sweat and tears, we finally have a shop selling potato snacks we can call our own. Not in the most glamorous shopping mall in town, but instead, Potato Farmland is now sitting next to a neighbourhood supermarket in the heartland of Yishun.
A small humble shop it may be, but the amount of time and effort we put in during the past 12 months was immeasurable. Developing the brand alone was pure hard work which is not just about creating a logo my non-designer friends! Creatively, we had to come out with the website, menu, collaterals and the whole farmland concept. We came a long way. Spending almost every weekend trying out new recipes, photographing the food with our not-so-professional digital camera, plenty of photoshopping, sourcing the best and the most affordable supplies, conducting research surveys at stuffy bus interchanges…you name it.
Although the process was long and tedious (and painful at times), it was a rewarding experience which brought us great sense of joy and satisfaction we never had. Though there were times when we had doubts, we never gave up. We seek solace and advice from people who believed in us and we kept our dreams going.
And in September 2008, we began a brand new chapter of our lives and the very first of Potato Farmland’s. Boasting over 20 different kinds of snacks in our menu, Potato Farmland aims to tantalize the taste buds of all people with the humble vegetable in modern and traditional recipes.
Step into Potato Farmland and let our creations from the heart warm you!
Special thanks to Khairil and Noelle for helping me out with those PHP thingy (at no cost!), Leon for some copywriting, fellow RMIT ex-classmates/designers with their valuable input, dad for the fridge and the students who filled in our survey forms.
Last but not least, great credit goes to the ‘Lady Boss’ Agnes whose culinary skills ‘Yan Can Cook’ would have been proud of. Her selfless sacrifice during these months was truly commendable.
Lastly thanks in advance to the customers who will patronize our shop!
